The materials and build quality of your Yamaha outboard ensure it's already highly resistant to corrosion.The addition of a sacrificial anode only improves this further. As a first line of defense an anode should corrode instead of your engine.
Anodes are easily replaced and should be changed when showing signs of corrosion in order to protect your engine against costly damage.
